  50. I got similar results, iff I hadn't already loaded my Winsock TCP manager 
  51. (I'm using Trumpet Winsock a17). All I needed to do was quit out of the 
  52. program and fire it up again, or initially run the TCP manager first, 
  53. then run qws3270.

  88. I have the same setup, and for me ws_ftp always fails on the first try.  
  89. If I try again (to the same host) it works ok.
  90.  
  91. Do other WinSock apps (like qvt/net) work with nameserver lookups?  
  92. If not, you may need to check the configuration of the tcp/ip transport.  
  93. It is in control panel->networks->adapters->protocols
